Today, we would like to give you an update on The Riftbreaker 2.0 Update’s status on consoles.
The Riftbreaker 2.0 Update was released on PC on August 25th, 2025. It is the culmination of almost four years of development, including more than a year of extensive, community-driven testing during closed and open beta periods. We are pleased with the results, as this update has proved to be the most stable version of the game by far, despite the multitude of changes included in this build. Once again, we would like to thank our community for your invaluable help during the development period.
We want to assure you that the console version of The Riftbreaker 2.0 Update is in development, and we're working hard to deliver it to you as soon as possible.
There is one more issue we want to address. Many of you might have heard that we are uncertain whether we can deliver the Co-Op Mode for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles. Unfortunately, this is true. The Riftbreaker 2.0 Update will arrive on consoles without the Online Co-Op component. Despite our best efforts and after an in-depth analysis of the challenge, we realized that it would be impossible for us to do the same in the case of Online Co-Op Mode. Hosting and playing the game on the same machine puts a significant strain on the system hardware and severely increases memory consumption. It is impossible for us to run the game in multiplayer under such limitations.
Under these circumstances, we made the heartbreaking decision to discontinue Online Co-Op development for console platforms. Please accept our most sincere apologies. We tried as hard as we could, for as long as we could.
Despite this unfortunate setback, we want to assure you that The Riftbreaker 2.0 Update will come jam-packed with all the other new features, bringing the single-player experience to an entirely new level. The Expanded Endgame Campaign will have you constructing massive Megastructures that will test your planning skills to the maximum. The new Omega-strain creatures will keep you on your toes as you fight hordes of Galatean creatures. The improved Loot system and the Weapon System rebalance refresh the gameplay and invite you to explore entirely new avenues with your builds. The new Mission Generator feature will allow you to explore completely new areas of the planet, looking for treasures and new resources to expand your economy. Lastly, the new quality of life features, such as mass disassembly of items, will save you time and make interacting with the game a breeze. We sincerely hope that, despite the bad news today, you will give The Riftbreaker 2.0 a chance. It is the most complete game experience to date.
We hope that the improved quality of the free The Riftbreaker 2.0 Update will make up for this, even if for a little bit.
